With the immediate urgency of Art Shows behind me, I have a little more time to work on my art journals. One of which, the "Story of Us" (basically a little scrapbook about Kyle and I) is REALLY behind. I'm hoping to get caught up on that one soon. The page I just did was about the first time we met (Yes, I'm THAT behind) but I'm really excited to get things rolling, and it's fun to reminisce together about our first dates.

A Couple of New Art Journal Pages
On this page I experimented with layering white over colors. I liked some of the black details but then got a little out of control, haha. Lesson learned! It was still a lot of fun.
This is a page from a new art journal I've started that is more of a scrapbook. I've never been great at the traditional type of scrapbook like my sister, Jen, is but I figure if I were to put memories on pages and doodle like crazy, then THAT would be my type of scrapbook!
Kyle and I have been collecting things individually since the beginning of our relationship (ticket stubs, receipts, photos, etc.) and we also like to reminisce about our earlier dates. I figured one day we will start to forget the little details we love so much, and start losing our collected items, so I wanted to put them all in a journal as a "Story of Us".
The right-hand page has a short summary of our individual reactions to the first mention of a blind date as well as what we were doing at the time. I really like the direction the project itself is going... :)

Art Journal
Just another page of my art journal. I was feeling inspired yesterday and I like how it came out. The flower in the bottom right-hand corner is an actual flower from a bouquet that my BF, Kyle, got for me.

Art Journal
One of my 25 Things to Do Before I Turn 26 was to create an Art Journal. This is a place where I can record things that are going on in my life with pictures, paintings, and words or just let myself go and experiment with new techniques and such. I plan to share most of my art journal pages with you all and I hope you feel inspired to start your own journal. It's so much fun!
What better place to start than with a "painty" version of this 25 things list!
